Message from the Chair
The Offshore Petroleum Association of South Africa (OPASA) constitutes a growing group of exploration and production companies participating in the upstream petroleum industry offshore South Africa.
The prime objective of OPASA is to co-operate with the State and all stakeholders in promoting health, safety, and sound environmental practices in exploring for and developing oil and gas resources. This is achieved through robust collaboration with the State in the development and application of robust standards and framework that would attract and promote investments in the Offshore oil and gas industry. Furthermore, OPASA is committed to the meaningful inclusion of stakeholders to ensure the industry’s sustained contribution to the socio-economy of South Africa.
As the South African petroleum industry takes off, OPASA, in collaboration with the State and all stakeholders, will endeavour to explore, develop and produce petroleum resources sustainably in consideration and benefit for South Africans and investors.
